Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

A GP referral is helpful but not always required. If you have recent surgery or cancer treatment, please bring details.

Is treatment painful?

No. Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to stimulate lymph flow and decrease congestion.

Will I need compression garments?

Many clients benefit from compression for long-term management. We fit and advise on garment choice and schedules.

Do you treat head & neck lymphoedema?

Yes — the CANpractice 135 course covers whole-body lymphoedema management, including head & neck areas.
